Dawning Of a New Beginning
AFAD-K held a fashion show dubbed the "DAWINIG OF A NEW BEGINNING" at Jamuhuri High School grounds. it was to give women in society a second chance.
the designs that graced the runway were beautiful, elegant.....honestly, breath taking.
some of the designers whose garments graced the runway were:
Sally Karago
Catherine Obam
Peggy Onyan'go
Elizabeth Njoroge
Betty Vanetti
and below are the designs that were showcased.
Some of the ladies who wore these beautiful garments were not actual models:; they were ladies who had a desire to start over.....
and the runway was a good way of starting afresh.
AFAD-K wishes these beautiful ladies the best in their future endeavors.

AFAD(K) Workshop.
AFAD(K)
organized a fashion entrepreneurship workshop on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 9:00am to 5:00pm
at Kingdom Business
Network , Ngong’ Road.
As we are all in fashion business it is key to be equipped with necessary tools of business to ensure continuity success in the industry.
Over the years fashion designers have been complaining that they are excluded in the business world. AFAD(K) has taken the initiative and the first step to ensure that Kenyan fashion designers are recognized. It is through this entrepreneurship workshop that the attendees learned professional tips to succeed in the fashion business.
those that attended the workshop learned alot, and there was a general consensus to have another workshop soon

in my opinion, the fashion show was a success, everyone did a good job; the organizers, the models, the sound crew, the hair and make up crew and most important of all, the student designers who designed the garments that walked the runway.
Above is Sally Karago, the Director of Mcensal School of Fashion giving a speech after the fashion show.
AFAD(K) wishes these students the best as they get into the fashion industry but judging from the good work that was displayed on that day, anyone can tell, these young ladies are going to be successful.
